Why chat without a phone number?
Most messaging apps tie your identity to a mobile number, SIM card, or social profile. That is fine for everyday contacts — but sometimes you need a quick, private conversation without sharing personal details: coordinating with someone abroad, talking to a buyer or seller, sharing a one-time code with a teammate, or chatting with a friend who does not want to install another app.
ToolsWebPro Secure Chat lets you create a temporary encrypted room in your browser. You share a Room ID and invite link — not your phone number. No account, no email, no app store download.
What makes it a "secret" chat?
Secret here means private and ephemeral, not hidden from the law. Messages are encrypted in your browser with AES-GCM before they reach our server. We store ciphertext only — not readable message text. When you refresh the page, the conversation clears from your screen. Rooms also expire after inactivity.
Only people with the Room ID and encryption key (from the invite link) can read messages. Share the link through a channel you already trust: another messenger, email, or in person.
Step 1: Create a secret chat room
Open the ToolsWebPro Encrypted Chat tool and start a new room:
- Go to ToolsWebPro → Secure Chat Room (or use the link at the bottom of this guide).
- Click Create Chat Room.
- Copy the Room ID and the full invite link.
- Send the invite link to the person you want to chat with — WhatsApp, Telegram, email, or any method you prefer.
- Pick a display name (optional) and wait for them to join.
Step 2: Join someone else's room
If you received an invite instead of creating the room:
- Open the invite link in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge on phone or desktop.
- The Room ID and encryption key fill in automatically from the URL.
- Click Join Room.
- Type messages — they are encrypted before sending.
No phone number — what you need instead
You only need a web browser and a way to exchange the invite link once. The other person does not need your number, and you do not need theirs. That makes it useful for international contacts, temporary projects, or anyone who prefers not to link a new contact to their SIM.
Because there is no phone verification, you choose who gets the link. Treat the invite like a house key: anyone with the link can enter the room.
Privacy tips
- Share invite links privately — not in public posts or group chats with strangers.
- Use a nickname instead of your real name if you want extra anonymity.
- Do not use secret chat for harassment, scams, or illegal activity.
- Copy anything important before refreshing — messages are not stored long-term for you to re-read later.
- For highly sensitive topics, also use a trusted network (avoid public Wi‑Fi when possible).
How this compares to WhatsApp or SMS
WhatsApp and SMS require phone numbers and usually a permanent contact list. ToolsWebPro Secure Chat is browser-based, session-based, and needs no signup. It is best for short, intentional conversations — not replacing your daily messenger.
